Norris: We're having problems with low downforce.
In Baku McLaren scored just six points, which was their worst result of the season. Summing up the weekend, Lando Norris noted that the MCL39 still has pace issues on circuits that require low-downforce setups.
Lando Norris: "I don't think we have serious problems, because if you look at the pace overall, we're not that bad. We were quick in the first, second and third practice sessions. Qualifying also started off fine for us, although because of the light rain the conditions weren't optimal, and the fact that I was the first to go on the run ruined the weekend.
If I'd started second, I would have finished second. However, we didn't have the pace to fight Red Bull. It's quite clear that we still have problems on low-downforce tracks.
Don't get me wrong — the team is having a fantastic season. But there are areas where we're not good enough yet, and we're continuing to work on those."
