Sainz and Alonso congratulated Marc Márquez on his seventh title.

Today's Japanese round of MotoGP was won by Francesco Bagnaia, but his Ducati teammate Marc Marquez took second place at the Motegi circuit, and that result was enough for the famed Spanish rider to secure the championship title early.

It is his seventh title in MotoGP, the premier class of motorcycle racing where bikes use engines with a displacement of 1000 cc, and overall he has become world champion nine times (in the 125cc class in 2010 and in Moto2 in 2012).

"Marc, my sincerest congratulations on the MotoGP 2025 title!" wrote Carlos Sainz on his social media pages and shared several photographs taken over the years alongside Marquez.

Of course, Fernando Alonso also sent his congratulations to Marc Marquez, and all of Spain is rejoicing for its motorcycle-racing hero.
