Wolff dismisses rumors about Antonelli's departure.
"He will definitely remain here in 2026 - absolutely"
Toto Wolff has called speculation about Kimi Antonelli potentially moving to another team in 2026 "completely nonsense." The 19-year-old Italian, who has demonstrated moments of speed but has also been inconsistent in his short Formula 1 career thus far, recently faced his mentor Wolff’s first public criticism, which has sparked discussions about unrest within Mercedes. Adding to the speculation are reports of challenging contract negotiations with George Russell for 2026 and beyond, while Mercedes has yet to issue any official statement regarding Antonelli’s future. However, during an appearance on the Sky Italia show 4 Amici al Pitti, Wolff dismissed claims that Antonelli could be transferred to Alpine or Williams. "The speculations about Alpine and Williams are completely nonsense. Zero," the team principal asserted. "He will definitely remain here in 2026 - absolutely."
