Another woman is running for FIA president.
We wrote about three candidates for the post of FIA president — the incumbent Mohammed ben Sulayem, former FIA steward Tim Mayer and Swiss racer Laura Villars. Now there are four — Belgian journalist and model Virginie Filippo has decided to run.
"I am running for FIA president. Not to become 'the first', but so as not to become 'the last'. I believe motorsport should reflect the real world: bold, diverse and united. As a woman with a global outlook and deep roots, I want to open doors that have been closed for far too long.
Let's build an FIA that will be truly inclusive of every voice, every story, every passion. The race for the future starts now," Virginie said on social media.
The election for FIA president will take place at the end of the year.
