Alonso: The car lacked the speed to fight for more.

Fernando Alonso made it into the final qualifying in Singapore, but could not rise above tenth place. The Aston Martin driver believes that this is the limit of the car's capabilities at the moment.

His teammate Lance Stroll was eliminated in the first session, finishing seventeenth. The Canadian driver admitted that during his decisive lap in the first session he lost time because he locked up his front wheels.

Fernando Alonso (10th): "I'm happy with my attempt. I managed a good lap that allowed me to get into the top ten, but we lacked the speed to achieve more. Between sessions the team adjusted the setup, but both in the third practice and in qualifying the car was quite difficult to drive.

In the race I start from the dirty side of the track. We'll see how things develop, but I hope we can fight for points."

Lance Stroll (17th): "Today was one of those days when it was difficult to put together clean laps. I went for it on the second attempt, but unfortunately I locked up the front wheels in the third sector and lost too much time.

Tomorrow I start seventeenth. We'll see what result we can achieve. The car has been difficult to drive throughout the weekend, so we face a long and tough race."
