Verstappen: I'll remember this, Norris!
Max Verstappen posted the second-fastest time in Singapore Grand Prix qualifying, finishing less than two tenths of a second behind George Russell. On his final run Max found himself behind Lando Norris, lost time and aborted the lap. After the session the Red Bull Racing driver jokingly vowed to remind Norris about that moment.
Yuki Tsunoda saw his challenge end in the second session, setting the fifteenth-fastest time.
Max Verstappen (2nd): "I made a few mistakes in the final sector, but that happens when another car is two seconds ahead of you. But I'll remind him of that! Who was it? Not Oscar. It's a shame it happened like that. Otherwise I could have been much closer to pole.
Qualifying was very interesting, although I'm a bit disappointed not to have taken first place. But the weekend is going very well for us. The car is competitive this year, so second on the grid is a very good result."
Yuki Tsunoda (15th): "Not my qualifying. I had problems with grip, so I wasn't able to improve noticeably in the second session compared to the first. Today the grip was worse compared to Friday's practice. It's a pity, because I didn't think it would be so difficult.
A positive takeaway is that the pace is definitely better than in Baku, so we made progress in that area. I'm still confident, but I would like more stability from the car. The tyres never really worked today.
Tomorrow is a new day, and although I start towards the back, I still hope to score a few points. At least that's my goal."
