John Elkann personally promised that Ferrari will win.

Ferrari's management is determined to bring the team back to a higher level despite all the difficulties the Scuderia faced in 2025.

This was discussed at the Capital Markets Day business conference held yesterday in Maranello.

If in the 2024 season the Scuderia fought with McLaren for the Constructors' Championship until the final round, it now occupies only third place in the team standings and could quite easily fall further back, since Red Bull Racing is only 8 points behind it.

According to John Elkann, Ferrari's president, he regards the team's return to a higher level as his personal matter:

"Ferrari is unique in three dimensions: tradition, technology and racing… It is racing, a history of participation in which began almost 100 years ago, that defines who we are.

I want to make it absolutely clear: I consider this my personal matter. At the core of my determination is also the fact that I am the chairman of the board and the owner of a large stake, but, first and foremost, I am a man for whom Ferrari is a lifelong passionate pursuit. I try to do everything so that every decision we make strengthens Ferrari's uniqueness…

Our devoted fans want us to win in Formula 1 as we win in endurance racing. This year we proudly claimed the third consecutive trophy for victory at Le Mans…"

Backing Ferrari's president was Benedetto Vigna, the company's CEO:

"At the previous meeting (with investors) we committed to winning races. We did that with the 499P hypercar in endurance racing, but in Formula 1 we still have improvements to achieve. We must win because we owe it to all our devoted fans around the world."

Charles Leclerc has stood on the podium five times this year in Grands Prix, but Lewis Hamilton has not once, his best achievement remaining victory in the Saturday sprint at the second round of the season in Shanghai.

But on Sundays neither of the Scuderia's drivers has truly stood out in 2025; for example, a week ago in Singapore Leclerc finished 6th and Lewis Hamilton was classified 8th after receiving a 5‑second penalty.

Six rounds remain in the season, and in theory Ferrari still has a chance to somewhat improve its position — although hopes now largely rest on luck, since objectively the SF-25 is only the fourth-fastest car at this stage of the championship.

The last time the Scuderia went a season without a single win was in 2021.
