McLaren invites fans to the fan zone in Austin.
On October 16 a McLaren Racing fan zone will open in downtown Austin at the LZR complex; it will be open free of charge to all fans and will operate for three days.
LZR is a space for hosting various events, set up in the building that once housed the famous concert hall La Zona Rosa, hence the abbreviation.
According to the British team’s press release, the McLaren Racing Live fan zone is a continuation of the Never Stop Racing campaign, which began in London during the general Formula 1 presentation marking the championship’s 75th anniversary. The fan zone was then organized on Trafalgar Square in the British capital over the summer, and now it’s Austin’s turn.
A varied interactive program has been prepared for fans, with participation promised from well-known musicians and artists who will, among other things, create a special racing helmet design that will later be auctioned.
Louise McEwan, marketing director: “The Austin fan zone completes the Never Stop Racing campaign, and our aim is to give fans who are unlikely to be able to attend the race the chance to have an incredibly exciting experience.”
