Ferrari comes together to refute rumors about Horner.

"Ferrari draws speculation like a magnet"

Ferrari, Charles Leclerc, and Lewis Hamilton have all worked to dispel renewed rumors regarding Frederic Vasseur's potential replacement by Christian Horner, asserting that the team remains united and concentrated as they approach this weekend's US GP. Reports from the UK and Germany suggested that Horner had engaged in preliminary discussions with Ferrari chairman John Elkann, but a representative for the team told Marca that these allegations are unfounded.

"These rumors aren’t worth commenting on," the Ferrari source stated. "Let's focus on the facts rather than the speculation - the reality is that our senior management reaffirmed its support for Fred two months ago."

Leclerc, speaking to Sky Italia, noted that the talk had become a distraction. "It’s a challenging time, as there are numerous things surrounding the team that I don’t understand," he expressed. "But it’s not just the rumors about Horner. This is why I hope for a strong weekend for the team - to move past all these issues and turn the page."

The Monegasque driver also reaffirmed his dedication to Ferrari despite reports that his management has looked into alternatives. "I’ve always said I want to win with Ferrari and become world champion. Nothing has changed," Leclerc mentioned. "Ferrari attracts speculation like a magnet, and people utter nonsense that isn’t rooted in facts. That can be quite frustrating at times."

Hamilton also dismissed the rumors concerning Horner when approached by reporters in Austin. "I don’t know where these rumors have originated," he said. "It’s somewhat distracting for us as a team. The team has clarified their position regarding Fred's contract," added the seven-time world champion. "Fred, I, and the entire team are diligently working on the future. These speculations aren’t beneficial. Everyone back at the factory is working incredibly hard and focused, and such rumors can sometimes be distracting."

Leclerc conveyed that Ferrari’s aim for the concluding races is to secure second place in the constructors’ championship. "We don’t possess the raw speed of McLaren, Mercedes, and Red Bull," he admitted, "but we’re not even a second off." He continued, "If we have a successful weekend, we can contend for podium finishes - and perhaps take second place from Mercedes."

Ferrari ceased development of its 2025 car early to concentrate on the significant regulatory changes for 2026, a decision Leclerc hopes will yield results. "We’ve stopped development to focus completely on 2026," he confirmed. "I hope this will be beneficial next season."
