Andrea Stella: We have achieved an important result

      Both McLaren drivers scored points in Austin – Lando Norris finished second, and Oscar Piastri finished fifth. Andrea Stella, head of the British team, commented on the US Grand Prix result on Sky Sports.

      Andrea Stella: "We achieved an important result. In yesterday's sprint we didn't score anything, so it's important that today both drivers finished in the top ten. The results confirm that we have the pace to fight for wins, and I think that if Lando hadn't had to deal with Charles Leclerc for almost the whole race, we would have seen an interesting battle between Norris and Verstappen for the victory.

      As for Oscar, there's room for analysis. Today his pace wasn't that good, but I have no doubt he'll bounce back in Mexico. Overall the results aren't what we'd like to see, because we need a win, but they do put us in a positive frame of mind ahead of the remaining races of the season.

      We understood that our race today was affected by the fact that yesterday we weren't able to run a single lap in the sprint. Nevertheless, the results confirm that the car is capable of good speed, which means that in the upcoming races we must do our best to execute our tasks."
