George Russell: I hope we'll do better in the next race.
George Russell lost two positions at the start of the United States Grand Prix, was unable to recover during the race and finished sixth. Kimi Antonelli collided with Carlos Sainz at the beginning of the race, and although he was able to continue, he lost any chance of scoring points. Ferrari and Red Bull Racing took advantage of Mercedes' problems and cut their deficit to Mercedes in the Constructors' Championship to seven and ten points respectively.
George Russell (6th): "Before the race I thought that whatever position I would be in after the first corner is where I would finish. I had those thoughts because of the expected level of tyre degradation and the similar pace of the leaders. In the end that's how it went — it's a pity that I lost positions at the first corner.
I had a good start, but then I was held up by Lando Norris, and as a result Lewis Hamilton and Oscar Piastri passed me on the outside. After that I ran the race on my own in sixth place.
Now all our attention is on the next round in Mexico City. That circuit is different from the one in Austin, and the high altitude will create additional challenges. I hope we'll have a better race and continue to fight for second place in the Constructors' Championship."
Kimi Antonelli (13th): "A disappointing race for me. From the very start of the weekend I was happy with the car and, starting from seventh, I was hoping to gain a few places. Unfortunately, I couldn't.
At Turn 15 I left Carlos Sainz room because I could see he was closing in. But we still collided, and that put an end to any real chance of scoring points.
A disappointing day, but we need to move on. We head straight to Mexico City, where there will be a chance to make up ground. I hope we can, because the fight in the Constructors' Championship is very tight and every point matters."
