      George Russell perdió dos posiciones en la salida del Gran Premio de los Estados Unidos, no pudo recuperarlas a lo largo de la carrera y terminó sexto. Kimi Antonelli chocó con Carlos Sainz al inicio de la carrera y, aunque pudo continuar, perdió las opciones de sumar puntos.

      Los rivales de Ferrari y Red Bull Racing aprovecharon los problemas de Mercedes y recortaron la desventaja del equipo en el Campeonato de Constructores a siete y diez puntos respectivamente.

      George Russell (6.º): "Antes de la carrera pensaba en en qué posición estaría después de la primera curva y que terminaría en esa posición. Tenía esos pensamientos por el nivel de degradación de los neumáticos que esperábamos y por el ritmo similar de los líderes. Al final así fue; qué pena que perdiera posiciones en la primera curva.
