Tsunoda: In Las Vegas I was repeatedly faster than Verstappen.

      The Las Vegas round was the third in a row in which Yuki Tsunoda failed to score points. Nevertheless, the Red Bull Racing driver insists that during the street-circuit weekend he repeatedly showed a higher pace than his teammate Max Verstappen.

      Yuki Tsunoda: "Repeatedly, in first, second and third practice I was faster than Max on long runs. I haven't been able to show that kind of speed for a long time; the team and I haven't seen that in a while.

      But Max has his strengths that allow him to take the car to another level in qualifying. That's his strong point. Before qualifying I was confident I could perform better than at other rounds, but it turned out the way it did.

      Before qualifying I was showing good pace, but in qualifying everything was out of my control and I missed the opportunity. It's a shame, but at least in terms of my race pace I'm moving in the right direction. It's just frustrating that I can't demonstrate that in my results."
