Pierre Gasly: I will do everything to make a comeback.
At Alpine, they expected more from the first qualifying session of the season, but both drivers were eliminated in the second session...
Pierre Gasly (14th): "I think we are all disappointed with the result. Of course, we expected more. The weekend has been challenging; we couldn't get the tires into the working range, and the car didn't behave as well as it did in testing. We need to find a solution as soon as possible.
On my fast laps, I felt like I was pushing to the limit, giving it my all on every lap, and I was satisfied with my speed.
This year, we need to seriously change our tire preparation and energy management; we have a lot to learn. We wanted to start the year differently, but we ended up further from the leaders than we expected. The race will be unpredictable. It's important to start well; I will do everything I can to recover and earn points."
Franco Colapinto (15th): "Saturday was not the easiest, just like the whole weekend. We are not in the positions we expected after the tests in Bahrain. Some teams turned out to be stronger than we thought and were able to improve compared to the tests. We are also continuing to work – on the track and at the base, and we managed to improve compared to Friday.
New cars, new regulations – we have a lot to learn this year. Compared to our competitors, we are a step behind, but we know what we need to focus on and what to improve. We are not giving up; I hope to make a comeback in tomorrow's race."
