The stewards fined Mercedes and Alpine.

After the qualifying session of the Australian Grand Prix, the stewards fined the Mercedes and Alpine teams for releasing cars onto the track in an unsafe condition. In the final, Kimi Antonelli went out on track with a cooling fan still attached to the right radiator, which the mechanics forgot to remove. One part of the fan fell off and landed on the track at the first corner, while the remaining part did so at the second. Lando Norris ran over the remnants of the fan, leaving the track littered with debris, and the qualifying session was halted with red flags. Mercedes explained that the mechanic who was supposed to remove the fan from the car was occupied with another task related to a previous incident, which is why the fan was not removed before Antonelli was released onto the track. For this violation, the team was fined €7,500. The Alpine team was fined a lesser amount of €5,000. The reason was similar – the unsafe release of a car onto the track. During qualifying, Pierre Gasly left the pits with an "unsecured component of the left front wheel assembly," which detached and rolled down the pit lane. Alpine acknowledged the mistake.
