Verstappen, Sainz, and Stroll are allowed to start.
Three drivers, Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz, and Lance Stroll, did not set a time in the first part of the qualifying session for the Australian Grand Prix and formally did not meet the 107% requirement of the best session time. The teams Red Bull Racing, Williams, and Aston Martin appealed to the stewards for permission for their drivers to participate in the race. Verstappen and Sainz were allowed to start, taking into account their results in practice. As for Lance Stroll, he did not set the required time in practice, but the stewards considered that his teammate Fernando Alonso met the 107% requirement, took into account Lance's experience in Formula 1, and allowed him to participate in the Sunday race.
