Shovlin: Russell's engine lost power due to a mistake.

Mercedes' chief race engineer Andrew Shovlin spoke about the reasons for the unexpected brief loss of power in George Russell's car during the race in Suzuka, which allowed Charles Leclerc to move ahead.

Andrew Shovlin: "A coding error that occurs when the button is pressed simultaneously with shifting gears caused the power unit to enter superclipping mode, and instead of delivering power, it started to accumulate it.

We still have a lot to analyze. There are several areas where we need to improve."
