If Lego isn't enough of a challenge, consider constructing a miniature engine! Stirlingkit offers engine models that not only look and operate like the real deal but also produce authentic sounds. Take, for instance, this mini inline-six inspired by the Toyota 2JZ.

Recently featured by YouTuber JohnnyQ90, this is not just an ordinary model kit. The “.02JZ” runs on gasoline (specifically 95-98 octane), utilizes a tiny starter motor to ignite, has its own oil pump, and keeps cool with a miniature radiator, just like a full-sized engine. Its sound resembles that of a genuine inline-six, albeit adapted to this engine's 28cc capacity and elevated redline.

Weighing in at 6.6 pounds, the engine can rev up to 10,000 rpm, according to its specifications, which is significantly higher than any stock Toyota JZ-series inline-six. It also generates 1.6 horsepower, although the turbo provides minimal assistance. The reviewer decided to remove the turbo following some tests and opted for an external water pump after the original one failed to effectively circulate coolant. Even small engines can encounter issues that need addressing.

Assembling a desktop engine may reduce the likelihood of back pain, but there’s still a need for a place to operate such a compact motor. Your coworkers likely won't appreciate the noise and gasoline odors. A clear solution is to use this engine as the foundation for an outstanding remote-control car project.

      Inline SIX 28cc TURBO Review

Turbocharged versions of the genuine 2JZ came with dual turbos from the factory, but this single-turbo configuration reflects a common modification of the beloved engine. Its significant power output contributed to the A80 Supra's legendary status and collectibility, while the engine has been swapped into various vehicles, from a Volvo V70 to a Lada 2105.

Toyota continues to operate in the shadow of the 2JZ and its other engineering feats from the 1990s. The company believed it had a cost-effective solution by sharing the A90 Supra design with the BMW Z4; however, fans criticized the decision to use an inline-six that wasn't developed in-house. Japan's largest automaker has several performance car projects underway, but it's doubtful that a successor to the 2JZ is among them.
