Bortoleto will visit the Stock Car Pro stage in São Paulo.
On April 1, when the organizers of the Brazilian Stock Car Pro series announced that Gabriel Bortoleto would participate in the racing weekend events in São Paulo on the last weekend of the month, few believed it.
But it turned out that this was not an April Fool's joke: the driver of the Audi factory team will indeed appear at the Interlagos racetrack, where the next stage of the season will take place from April 24-26, a series that can be considered the Brazilian equivalent of NASCAR.
However, this does not mean that he will be competing on a real track: Stock Car Pro confirmed yesterday that Gabriel will try his hand in Stock SIM, which means, apparently, he will be behind the wheel of a racing simulator. Of course, the only Brazilian competing in Formula 1 in 2026, and such a promising one as Bortoleto, will receive the warmest welcome at home, with fan meetings, etc.
The Brazilian press reminded that in 2022 he already gained experience participating in Stock Car Pro: Gabriel finished 6th in the first race of the weekend and took 22nd place in the second. That same year, he won a race in Stock Light, a youth series that supplies talent to Stock Pro.
It is also worth adding that Gabriel's father, Lincoln Oliveira, heads the Vicar company, the promoter of this national Brazilian championship, which features several former Formula 1 drivers – Felipe Massa, Rubens Barrichello, and Nelson Piquet Jr., the brother of Max Verstappen's girlfriend.
