Leclerc decided to stay away from social media.
Charles Leclerc has tens of millions of followers on social media, but fans have likely been feeling some disappointment lately because the Ferrari driver's activity there has significantly decreased.
But there are reasons for everything, and Charles, participating in a podcast with Italian journalist Gianluca Gazzoli, explained it this way: "For many years, I spent a lot of time online, but then I realized that it was changing my perception of performances in certain races. The thing is, a single good or bad moment from a particular Grand Prix would stand out, while everything else seemed to be forgotten.
Because of this, I had to change my approach to social media a bit. Of course, I still select all the photos myself, as it’s important for me that social media always conveys accurate information. But you could say that I no longer use it because everything discussed there, both good and bad, affects me. And I preferred to stop engaging with it…
For example, I know that I didn’t perform well in a race, a clip of some incredible outside overtaking made it to social media, and you start thinking, 'How great I performed that day!' But sometimes, a race goes really well, but a not-so-great moment gets posted online, and you receive a lot of negative comments.
In general, to analyze my performances as impartially as possible, I now prefer to stay away from all of this and get an accurate understanding of my races."
