Nigel Mansell dreams of Hamilton's eighth title.
The 1992 World Champion Nigel Mansell dreams that his fellow countryman Lewis Hamilton will win an eighth title before he retires from Formula 1.
Nigel Mansell: "I may seem too romantic, but I want Lewis to win an eighth title. Lando Norris has many years ahead of him, so there will be opportunities to win a title. So I’m rooting for Lewis! He has already achieved so much, but now he needs to see it through."
Hamilton has nine wins at his home track in Silverstone. When asked if fans can expect Lewis's tenth victory in the UK this season, Mansell said: "There is a chance, as Lewis is full of energy again. He has had a brilliant career, and it's just fantastic that he continues to perform at such a level.
Hamilton is energized again, and Ferrari has done a great job this winter. They are close to the leaders from Mercedes, as are McLaren. I think that after the regulation adjustments, when everyone arrives in Silverstone, the competition will be very tight.
I hope we are in for an epic race. Six or seven drivers could contend for the win, and that’s wonderful."
