Formula E: Jaguar unveiled the GEN4 car prototype

The Jaguar Racing team, currently in 2nd place in the manufacturers' standings after the first six rounds of the World Championship for electric car racing, showcased a prototype of the new generation car (GEN4) designed in a very original way.

It is named Jaguar GEN4 proto_TYPE and presented in a test version livery, with one of its design elements being telemetry data reflecting the speed of Jaguar's racing electric cars from different generations on the legendary city circuit in Monaco.

“We are pleased to present the Jaguar GEN4 proto_TYPE and continue our preparation for entering a new era of Formula E,” commented Ian James, head of the factory team of the famous British company. “The unique version of the car's livery, created for testing, reflects not only Jaguar's time in Formula E but also the enormous evolutionary journey in terms of technology development and speed growth that we have undergone over the past ten years.

Formula E is the perfect platform that allows Jaguar to be a leader in electric technologies, and the GEN4 car represents the next stage of reforms in our championship. These electric cars are capable of achieving incredibly high speeds, and we can't wait to demonstrate what the Jaguar GEN4 proto_TYPE can do on the track.”

The official presentation of the new generation cars will take place in Le Castellet at the Paul Ricard circuit on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. In addition to Jaguar, prototypes of their racing electric cars will be shown by Porsche and the Stellantis group, specifically Opel.

Five manufacturers have already formally confirmed their participation in the electric series after transitioning to GEN4 technology: Porsche, Jaguar, Stellantis, Lola, and Nissan.
