Leclerc: In 2026, everything depends on the speed of the car's development.
Today, the Ferrari team is conducting a filming day at Monza, during which they will test the technical innovations prepared for the Miami Grand Prix. The Italian press claims that the Scuderia engineers have managed to reduce the weight of the car and prepare an updated aerodynamic package, including a redesigned rear wing named "Macarena," the upper surface of which rotates 180 degrees around its axis when Straight Mode is activated. The day before, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc mentioned that this year the speed of car development will be crucial, and the team that can prepare innovations faster than its competitors will gain an advantage. Charles Leclerc: "This season is all about the speed of car development and the updates each team is preparing. Right now, we are in a more or less acceptable position, but of course, we are racing not just to get on the podium. We want to win races, but doing so is incredibly difficult, as Mercedes is at a very high level. The team is working hard, especially at the base. Our staff is doing everything possible to prepare the innovations as quickly as possible. I know that we will receive some of them in the near future. Whether this will change the balance of power or not – I don't know. However, I am quite sure that other teams are not on vacation, so the competition will remain very tight."
