Sergio Perez: The pace looks promising

Cadillac drivers Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas showed the nineteenth and twentieth times in the qualifying for the Miami Grand Prix sprint. After the session, both noted that thanks to the updates, the car has improved, but the team still has a lot of work to do to reach a higher level.

Sergio Perez (19th): "We made progress thanks to the updates, but we still have too many reliability issues. I was only able to complete one lap in qualifying, losing a lot of time in practice. For the team, the main priority is to solve these problems.

But I am glad that we managed to get the most out of the car – I am satisfied with my lap, even though it was just one. It looks like we had chances to make it into Q2, which is already progress. But still, the main priority is to resolve the issues we encountered so that Saturday goes smoothly. We'll see what positions we finish in the Sunday race. The pace looks promising, and that is the most important factor."

Valtteri Bottas (20th): "The car has become more manageable, and that's good. We definitely managed to increase downforce, but now we need to take the next step. At least the car has improved, which indicates that the team is moving in the right direction.

In qualifying, I didn't notice any significant changes after the regulation adjustments, but it's good that now we can stay on the throttle longer. At least there were no issues. In the sprint, we'll evaluate how the adjustments work over the distance."
