The latest in automotive news and reviews, without any fluff.

Cadillac is marking its debut in the Formula 1 World Championship this year with an exclusive and extremely limited edition of the CT5-V Blackwing sport sedan. The new Blackwing F1 Collector Series will be restricted to only 26 units, making them the most powerful V-Series models ever produced, featuring 685 horsepower—17 more than the standard supercharged V8 sport sedan—and an additional 14 pound-feet of torque.

“For over 20 years, the V-Series badge has symbolized an enhancement in design, performance, and technology connected to the purest passion at the heart of the Cadillac brand,” Cadillac stated in its announcement.

“Similar to every CT5-V Blackwing, the F1 Collector Series is designed to offer the thrilling, track-ready performance that has established Cadillac V-Series as a standard in the luxury performance market,” Cadillac added.

The kit itself embodies millennial-approved monochromatic styles. The wheels are coated in “Carbon Flash,” while the brakes are in “Harbor Gray.” The lower carbon fiber bodywork features a “Switchblade Silver” pinstripe, and the badges are glossy black. If you're in the market for vibrant colors, this isn't for you.

As this is the “F1” Collector Series, it incorporates plenty of FIA branding. The F1 logo is embossed on the doors, spoiler, rocker panels, sill plate, supercharger cover, seat upholstery, and center console trim. An FIA logo also appears on the supercharger cover and center console.

The additional power comes from a pulley upgrade and a slight increase in supercharger displacement. The pulley ratio has been enhanced from 3.14 to 3.24, according to a GM spokesperson, and the air volume under the supercharger cover has risen by 2128cc.

Now for the standout feature: the F1 Collector Series will exclusively come with a manual transmission. No fakes allowed.

“The CT5-V Blackwing represents the epitome of Cadillac’s track-capable performance. With the F1 Collector Series, we are infusing the energy and innovation of Formula 1 into a roadworthy sedan that feels just as extraordinary as our entry into the sport,” said Mark Reuss, President of General Motors. “Each of the 26 vehicles is meticulously crafted to be a highlight in any collection and a true tribute to Cadillac’s new phase in Formula 1.”

Cadillac announced that the F1 Collector Series will be available for purchase in mid-2026, though no pricing details were revealed.
