Nico Hülkenberg: I achieved the maximum in qualifying.
Nico Hülkenberg did not start the Saturday sprint in Miami due to a car fire on the way to the grid. Audi mechanics managed to restore the R26 before qualifying began, Nico set the eleventh fastest time and thanked the team for their work.
Gabriel Bortoleto's car also required some work from the mechanics before qualifying. The Brazilian driver went out on track towards the end of the session, completed one fast lap, but on the way back to the pits, the rear left brake caught fire, and he had to stop on track.
Nico Hülkenberg (11th): "First of all, I want to thank the mechanics for their great work. They got the car back in shape after it got a bit singed. So, great job and thank you.
The gap to the top ten turned out to be about what we expected. You could say I got the maximum out of qualifying. The car handled well, just like on Friday.
The only issue was that before qualifying we had to repair the car instead of doing the standard setup checks, but everything went well. Let's see what result we can achieve in the race."
Gabriel Bortoleto (22nd): "The team rushed to get the car out on track, but when you have to hurry, there simply isn't enough time to check everything. We did everything we could, but during my lap, too many problems arose, so I had to stop on track.
It's a shame, but Sunday will be a new day and new opportunities."
