Berman: We knew that the weekend would be challenging.

The Haas F1 drivers occasionally showed decent pace in qualifying, but at the crucial moment, they faltered, dropping out of contention in the second session…

Oliver Berman (13th): “We had serious issues with rear wheel grip, especially in the high-speed sections during the sprint. This track has many areas where good acceleration dynamics are needed, but the car was sliding, and I struggled to keep it on the track. Before the sprint, we had some ideas, and they confirmed that we were on the right track, but in qualifying, we lacked speed as usual. Compared to our competitors, we changed almost nothing on the car, and we knew in advance that the weekend would be challenging. In the first qualifying session, we performed slightly better, but we had a different strategy than the others, and in the second session, our rivals improved while we did not. Rain is promised on Sunday, so let's keep our fingers crossed.”

Esteban Ocon (15th): “In the sprint, we were a bit short on speed. Oliver and I tried to catch up to Bortoleto, but unfortunately, he was too fast for us. Compared to Friday, we made a big step forward; it wasn’t enough to make it to the final qualifying session, but we gave it our all. I could have gained a couple more positions, but I lost time in the last corner, hitting the wall. It’s a shame, but you attack with all your might, and sometimes that happens. In the race, everything depends on the weather; if a chance arises, we will try to take advantage of it.”
