Red Bull hopes to reduce weight by the time of Spielberg.
In Miami, Red Bull Racing has made significant progress, but one of the key issues with the car – the excess weight of the RB22 – has only been partially resolved. The car has "lost" six kilograms, and there is still more to shed. Engineers hope to take the next step at the home race in Spielberg.
Pierre Waché, Technical Director: "We need to take another step in terms of weight. This should make the car more competitive. I don't know when exactly, but we will continue to reduce weight, possibly by the race in Austria. We need to wait a little longer. In Canada, we will make a small step, and later we should improve."
