Depending on who you ask, some might argue that the GMT800 Chevrolet and GMC represent the finest trucks of this century. Of course, truck enthusiasts can be quite enthusiastic—I say this as someone who is one of them—but at least their passion is evident. I’m sure there are many individuals who would eagerly purchase a new single-cab, short-bed GMT800 if they had the chance, and this 2000 Silverado with just 4,300 miles, listed on Bring a Trailer, could be the closest option available.

The Victory Red Chevy just appeared on the auction site today, leaving a week to watch how high the bids will soar. It’s well-equipped, featuring a 5.3-liter Vortec engine and a 4L80E automatic transmission. Notably, it’s a Z71 model, which comes with upgraded shocks, stabilizer bars, skid plates, and a transmission cooler for when you're really putting it to work. Although, it would be a surprise if this truck has seen much labor given that it hasn't even driven enough to complete a standard oil change interval over the past twenty-five years.

Every aspect of this Chevy is indeed impressive. BF Goodrich K02 tires on 16-inch five-spoke wheels? Seriously. The plush grey cloth interior, complete with a fold-down center armrest that remains intact? Incredible. Clearly, whoever ordered this or discovered it on the lot and chose to park it there knew what they were doing. Not everyone anticipated these would eventually become collectible, but clearly this individual did.

As per the listing, the current owner is the fourth, having added only 10 miles. The fuel filter, battery, and spark plugs were replaced in 2024, indicating it hasn’t been completely neglected. The fuel tank was also cleaned at that time. Whether that clears up your questions and worries regarding a truck that has been sitting for so long, remains to be seen.

The original window sticker is part of the sale, so you can either keep it in the glovebox or frame it for display. This Chevy originally had an MSRP of $27,776, and something suggests it will sell for more this time around, provided it meets the reserve price. However, when adjusted for inflation, that factory pricing amounts to $55,054 in today’s terms. This illustrates just how well-equipped it is for a single-cab half-ton.

Don’t be surprised if it exceeds that amount when the bidding ends on May 15.
