REI is offering impressive discounts for its anniversary sale, which kicks off today. There are significant reductions on premium roof racks, bike racks, and various car-camping gear currently available. Indeed, just this month, I reviewed the new Yakima StepUp Swing bike rack and was quite impressed. It typically retails for $999, but with 20% off, it drops to $799.19, which is an excellent deal. The non-hinged versions (if you don’t require the bikes to swing out for tailgate access) are even more budget-friendly. The compact RidgeBack model is priced under $320, and the hatchback-compatible FullBack three-bike carrier costs only around $263.
