Verstappen's team qualified fourth.
The qualification for the 24-hour marathon at the "North Loop" of the Nürburgring has concluded, attracting special attention this year due to the participation of Max Verstappen and his team Verstappen Racing.
The qualification consisted of three sessions. In the first, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 was driven by Lukas Auer, in the second by Max Verstappen, and in the final session, Daniel Huncadella took the wheel. After the first attempt, the Spanish driver was in ninth place, but on the second lap with less fuel, Daniel was the fastest in individual sectors and recorded a second-best time of 8:12.005 seconds.
However, after the competitors completed their laps, Verstappen's crew dropped to fourth position in the qualification standings. The pole position was secured by Red Bull Team Abt driver Luca Engstler in the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 with a time of 8:11.123 seconds.
Another Red Bull Team Abt crew in a Lamborghini numbered 130 will start second, while Christopher Haase from the Scherer Sport team in an Audi R8 LMS GT3 rounded out the top three.
The start of the 24-hour marathon is on Saturday at 16:00 Moscow time. The live broadcast will be available on the official YouTube channel of the racetrack.
