A new chapter for Ferrari is set to begin as the iconic brand, established by Enzo to compete in racing, prepares to introduce its first electric vehicle.

A prototype of the Ferrari Luce was recently seen navigating the roads of Maranello, still heavily camouflaged, although it features some noticeable new details compared to previous spy shots. This raises the question of whether this electric vehicle will embrace retro design elements or serve as a groundbreaking model for a new generation.

While the camouflage does its job, the front end showcases a line that wraps around into the front fenders. There are some odd references to the Ferrari F40 on those fenders, but this could again be attributed to the camouflage. The headlights seem to be positioned low within the bumper, just below the LED daytime running lights. If you look closely, the design of the lower front bumper’s air intakes almost resembles that of the F40 as well. Am I imagining things, or is it just me?

The side view remains uncertain as the team has effectively concealed it with camouflage. The front is low, the side mirrors are substantial, and the outline of the four doors is discernible. However, the rear view is entirely shielded. Do those appear to be round LED taillights? The rear diffuser is quite large, though it’s unclear whether it serves a functional purpose or is merely for aesthetics. The wheels are clearly not production-ready, yet they suggest that the Luce will feature oversized wheels with wide tires.
