Bottas: The chance to create a new team comes rarely.

Before the start of the race weekend in Montreal, Valtteri Bottas shared his thoughts on life and work at this stage of his career, when he joined the new Cadillac F1 team, in an interview with the Canadian TV channel TSN.

Valtteri Bottas: "There are aspects of life that shouldn't be taken too seriously – it's important to enjoy and have fun, you know? Otherwise, what's the point of everything you do? I've also learned that once you get to know yourself and start showing yourself as you truly are, your life becomes much simpler.

You stop taking criticism and various opinions too personally – people will always express their opinions, but you have to learn to ignore them. Then your life improves significantly.

We built the Cadillac F1 team from scratch – I hadn't participated in such projects before. Opportunities like this are quite rare in a career, and let's hope our team becomes successful. That's the uniqueness of this project, and this mindset is shared not only by me but by everyone working in the team. At Cadillac, we have a truly cohesive group; we embarked on this journey together, and it's quite a unique story.

Usually, in life, you learn from mistakes, but sometimes you can avoid missteps by anticipating them, understanding in advance what difficulties will arise – and that's where advice from others can be helpful. Let's hope no one in our team faces psychological challenges, and I hope my experience can be beneficial to others."
