Pierre Gasly: The day was challenging.

Franco Colapinto achieved a decent result in the sprint qualifying, while his Alpine teammate Pierre Gasly will start from the very back...

Franco Colapinto (13th): "Considering that we started the day practically without practice, we worked well in the sprint qualifying.

The track on Friday was dirty, there was a lack of grip – it was important to complete as many laps as possible to learn how to deal with it. But in the end, I learned a lot. The sprint qualifying was challenging, but it's valuable experience.

I am grateful to the team for preparing the car after what happened in practice. I think I will perform better tomorrow when I spend more time behind the wheel."

Pierre Gasly (19th): "My Canadian weekend didn't start well, and crashing out in the first part of qualifying is not the result we were expecting.

The day was challenging. In practice, due to red flags, we couldn't complete the entire planned program. In some aspects, we are seriously lagging behind, and this needs to be fixed in Saturday's qualifying to earn points in Sunday's race.

Saturday's sprint won't be easy, considering my starting position, but I will still try to achieve the best possible result."
