Leo Turini: Only the great are capable of such achievements.

Kimi Antonelli's successes give the Italian press reason for sincere admiration for their young compatriot, and Leo Turini, of course, has also joined this chorus, especially since he calls the 19-year-old Mercedes driver his godson... Considering the results of the Canadian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton is right to categorically avoid the simulator in Maranello – however, jokes aside. Fifty years ago, at the Summer Olympics in Montreal, 14-year-old Romanian Nadia Comaneci showed everyone what a perfect performance means, becoming the first gymnast in history to receive the highest score of 10. Fifty years later, in the same city, my godson Kimi Antonelli put on a great show in pursuit of a perfect result at speeds over 300 km/h. As you know, for the "Harry Potter" from Bologna, this is his fourth consecutive victory, and in the past, only the greats were capable of such achievements. This boy won his fourth Grand Prix, and since George Russell, who is no longer his friend, retired from the race, Kimi solidified his leading position in the championship. The misfortune that befell the Brit helped Antonelli, but their prolonged duel, during which the battle was wheel to wheel, in my opinion, indicates something greater. In short, there is no longer any point in marveling at Kimi's skill. We are witnessing the rise of a future champion, who has a natural talent for speed, enhanced by aggression, which undoubtedly indicates confidence in his abilities. I don't know how this season will end, but I suspect that Mercedes needs to help Russell recover somehow. Nevertheless, Kimi is undoubtedly the fastest Italian driver since Alberto Ascari, and we can already talk about the unique level of his skill. That is why Antonelli's success story promises to be so interesting. Furthermore, the revival of Lewis Hamilton also deserves admiration – these words do not seem exaggerated to me. It has been years since we saw such convincing performances from the seven-time world champion. It seems he has finally found the right approach to Ferrari. The SF-26 is slower than the Mercedes, and there is no arguing about that. The engine in this car is clearly less powerful, and I don't know what hypothetical possibilities related to the ADUO program could offer the Scuderia. We'll see. In Canada, Lewis unequivocally outpaced a driver like Leclerc, although this was completely unforeseen, but Charles had difficulties. I would also like to add that Hamilton's duel with Max Verstappen, another hero of yesterday's Grand Prix, for second place on the podium was simply magnificent. Now ahead is the race in Monaco. Leclerc was in a somewhat melancholic mood yesterday, but on his home track in Monte Carlo, he will have a chance to strike back. However, of course, many in the Mediterranean principality will be cheering for Kimi Antonelli, the new championship favorite, hoping to celebrate his fifth consecutive victory. Nevertheless, if there is one track where the cars from Maranello can beat Mercedes this year, it is the crazy street circuit in Monaco. This weekend promises to be special, and let's hope that during the awards ceremony we will once again hear the Italian anthem – either in honor of the Italian driver or in honor of the Italian team. However, who knows, maybe the old melody "God Save the King" will play, that cannot be ruled out either...
