James Vowles, head of Williams, commented on the results of the Canadian Grand Prix, noting that the upgraded FW48 car is capable of a decent pace, but only one of the team's drivers – Carlos Sainz – was able to truly take advantage of this. Alex Albon retired from the race after a collision with Oscar Piastri's McLaren.

James Vowles: "The races in Miami and Canada confirmed that the technical innovations prepared by the team are working quite successfully, which is encouraging. Although we understand that we have not yet reached the level we want to achieve, the team was able to earn points in two consecutive races when the opportunity arose.

However, in Montreal, we did not do everything right, and a different decision should have been made regarding the strategy for Carlos (the Spanish driver started on intermediate tires, which necessitated an additional pit stop to switch to slicks), and as for Alex, his car definitely allowed him to fight for points, and he was on track to do so, but he retired due to a collision with a competitor.

Still, from my perspective, the most important thing is that we continue to show progress and move forward. The year started not as we would have liked, we still have significantly fewer points than teams like Alpine and Racing Bulls, but we are gradually improving.

Regarding the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix, we hope to further increase the car's efficiency, and on this street circuit, we should once again show what we are capable of and fight for places in the top ten. Of course, the importance of qualifying in this race will be higher than in the previous two rounds.

We have a detailed plan for car upgrades for the next six months, and we will continue to present innovations at most races. We intend to maintain a high pace of modernization to return to our previous level and ensure a stable opportunity to fight for points."
