Leclerc: In Monaco, my favorite track and favorite weekend.
The Monaco Grand Prix is a home race for Charles Leclerc. Before the start of the race weekend, the Ferrari press service asked their driver three questions.
Question: How are you feeling ahead of the Monaco stage, considering you just extended your contract with Ferrari?
Charles Leclerc: I am very motivated and happy that we will continue this journey together in the coming years. Of course, there have been good moments and challenging ones, but I am really happy that our story continues. Ferrari has always been a team close to my heart. I want to continue this mission and fight for the championship title together with Ferrari.
Monaco is my favorite track and my favorite weekend of the season, so I hope to just enjoy every minute.
Question: What emotions does the Monaco Grand Prix evoke in you?
Charles Leclerc: First of all, childhood memories when I heard Formula 1 cars racing past my school. That first impression always comes back and remains the brightest. There is something special about it, especially since I live in Monte Carlo and literally see how the Grand Prix is organized in the city over several months. Therefore, the anticipation for this stage is always much stronger than for any other race.
Question: What do you expect from the new generation of cars on this unique street circuit?
Charles Leclerc: I think the track should suit these cars because energy management is not as crucial here. There are a lot of corners, which means there are opportunities for recovery.
Plus, the cars have become lighter, making them more maneuverable. On a track that consists almost entirely of slow corners, it will be more interesting to drive. I can't wait to get out on the track.
