Lando Norris: This was clearly not our weekend.

      In Monaco, the McLaren team celebrated its 1000th Grand Prix, although opinions on this matter differ, but as always, it all depends on how you count. The race results were also ambiguous, as only Oscar Piastri finished, taking 4th place after starting from 7th position, while Lando Norris retired on the 44th lap of the race due to power unit issues.

      Oscar Piastri (4th): "When you manage to gain three positions in Monaco, it always means that the day went pretty well. Although I didn't make any overtakes on track, we worked well to take advantage of how the situation unfolded in front of us, and we applied a sensible strategy. It was important for us to earn those 12 points.

      However, our pace today was mediocre, and we need to figure out why we had such serious issues this weekend. Ahead is the race in Barcelona, as well as other races, and we have a lot of work to do to close the gap to the leaders.

      Lando Norris (retirement): "This was clearly not our weekend – unfortunately, once again I had to retire. The difficulties started on Friday, and the team worked until 4 AM on Saturday to get the car out on track, but in the race, we faced another problem.

      It's disappointing, and everyone is upset, as we put in a huge effort to make improvements, but so far the technology has let us down.

      We will continue to work hard, keeping a positive attitude, and addressing the reliability issues is a priority. I hope we can regain our form by Barcelona and show what we are capable of."
