Pirelli: The limiting factor was the wear of the rear tires.

In Monaco, teams used different strategy options, hoping to complete the race with one pit stop, but the red flag stoppage allowed drivers to change tires for the second time... Dario Marraffuski, director of Pirelli Motorsport: "Today, drivers did not hold back on pace, trying to get the most out of their cars. This affected tire wear, which turned out to be higher than in previous days, impacting pace in some cases. The decision not to conserve tires pushed teams towards more conservative strategic choices. Almost everyone preferred to start on Medium and then choose Hard for the second stint. However, some long runs on Soft, such as those by Aston Martin, clearly showed that the C5 compound could also be a worthy alternative. At the restart, everyone also chose Soft. The driver who made the best use of all three compounds was the winner – Kimi Antonelli, who set the best times on Hard, Medium, and Soft, dominating the race. The limiting factor was the wear on the rear tires due to numerous acceleration phases throughout the race, which turned out to be quite interesting, especially in the second half, which was full of unexpected plot twists, including the restart."
