The regulations have been established in Formula 1 and by the FIA.
The FIA press service confirmed the achievement of an important agreement - the federation, the leadership of Formula 1, and the teams have agreed on a package of changes to the technical, sporting, and financial regulations for the years 2027 and 2028.
The agreement is the result of discussions that have been ongoing since the first races of the 2026 season, related to issues with energy distribution in power units.
The agreed changes involve a phased adjustment of the contribution of internal combustion engines and recovery systems in the 2027 and 2028 seasons, including corrections to the power of internal combustion engines, fuel flow, and recovery systems.
The percentage of power distribution will change each year with the increasing role of the internal combustion engine.
The proposed changes will be presented for approval to the World Motor Sport Council on June 23 in Macau.
