Leclerc: I have a feeling that we are on the right track.

Charles Leclerc did not score points in the last two races in Monaco and Barcelona. Before the start of the race weekend in Austria, the Ferrari driver indicated that the decision to abandon Brembo brake discs in Barcelona helped him regain confidence in the car.

Charles Leclerc: "In Montreal, and especially in Monaco, we had some issues that led to significant difficulties," Charles Leclerc said in Spielberg. "I partly lost confidence in the car. In Barcelona, I felt the car again like I did at the beginning of the season, and that's a positive point.

I think the last races were unsuccessful. If we look at the situation objectively, the stages in Monaco and Barcelona went much worse than they should have. We encountered two technical problems in two consecutive races, and that cost us a lot of points.

I can't go into detail about the problem in Barcelona, but I can say that everything happened suddenly. But I don't think this problem will trouble us again in the future."

Speaking about the competitive landscape in Spielberg, Charles named Mercedes as the favorite for the Austrian stage but did not write off Ferrari: "I believe that Mercedes still has the fastest car. But in hot Barcelona, we worked quite well with the tires, so I hope we can maintain that level here, although the straights are longer on this track.

At the moment, the Mercedes power unit is better than ours, so I expect that we will pay a higher price.

However, the team is currently in a very good position. We continue to bring updates, and this shows our commitment to success. I think we have had more race weekends with new updates than without them, and that's a good sign.

I have always liked the Austrian track; we haven't won there in a long time, but in recent years we haven't had the car for it. Right now, I feel like we are on the right path to regain the speed that will allow us to win races."
