Berman: Achieving more would still not have been possible.
The best result for Haas F1 in Silverstone was Oliver Berman's 14th place, while his teammate Esteban Ocon was out of the race already in the first session...
Oliver Berman (14th): "I had a good start in the sprint and successfully completed the first lap, but then I fell back to my usual positions.
Audi had a poor start; I managed to overtake Hadjar, who, it seems to me, had acceleration issues. After that, I couldn't do anything – the Audi drivers found their rhythm and caught up with me. The first few laps went well, then I started having problems with the left front tire, and that was it.
In qualifying, I always try to extract the maximum from the car, and today, I think I performed decently. The battle in the first session was intense. After making it into the second session, we made a clear step forward compared to Williams. I don't see any scenarios where we could finish higher than 14th place – it was not easy to handle the car.
There were no major issues in the high-speed sections; the main difficulties arose at the entry to slow and medium-speed corners. We hadn't had such problems before; after the sprint, we tried to increase downforce, but it didn't work. Tomorrow, I will try to give it my all – the support from the fans gives me strength."
Esteban Ocon (17th): "I had a great start in the sprint and could have gained even more positions, but I had to slow down, and then I lost to the Audi drivers – they were too fast for us. If the sprint had lasted another lap, I would have lost a position to Carlos as well. Unfortunately, I was unlucky in qualifying with yellow flags on my last fast lap.
The team did a great job providing me with a good car. This is a significant step forward compared to qualifying for the sprint and our form in the last three or four races. Today, the car was in good shape and allowed me to attack."
