Binotto dismisses rumors about a driver change involving Audi.
"Audi's leadership has addressed the rumors regarding Nico Hulkenberg's potential exit at the end of the 2026 season. Speculation in the Silverstone paddock hinted at Audi's renewed interest in Carlos Sainz, especially as uncertainty surrounds his future at Williams amid the team's halted progress. However, Audi chief Mattia Binotto reaffirmed the team's dedication to its current driver lineup. 'We’ve said we have a good driver pairing,' he stated to Sky Deutschland. 'We have a rookie and an experienced driver. Essentially, we have two first-choice drivers, and we’re very pleased with that. Both are very fast.' His remarks come despite a challenging start to the season for Audi, with Hulkenberg still seeking his first points and Brazilian Bortoleto managing only 2 so far. Binotto dismissed any concerns about the performance of the 38-year-old German driver, asserting, 'Nico still has plenty of fuel in his veins. He’s focused, he’s consistent, and he still exhibits the energy of a young driver. He’s performing well, and we’re very satisfied with that.'"
