Fernando Alonso: "I hope the track in Budapest will help us. For me, it's more important to understand the direction in which the car is developing, whether we can unlock its potential. The updates won't change our approach. We arrive at each weekend with the goal of maximizing what we have.
In the early races, all teams chose a traditional approach, refining their cars and gaining two to three tenths in each race. We decided to do it differently – to implement everything at once to make up for lost time. I am very proud of the team and what they have done to understand the issues since the first tests in Bahrain.
It's not that I need immediate answers. The team is confident – sooner or later we will resolve all the issues, it just takes time. I have no doubt that one day Adrian Newey will build the best car in the championship again. I have no doubt that Honda will also resolve all their issues. The question is how soon the car will become competitive.
I am still motivated, fast, and full of energy. But it's important for me to enjoy what I'm doing, and what I saw in Silverstone and Spa I didn't like at all."
