Report: Red Bull came to Tsolov's aid regarding debt associated with Alonso.

"Helmut Marko essentially bought him out of Alonso."

Red Bull's upcoming F1 talent Nikola Tsolov has reportedly been pulled from serious financial troubles after Dr. Helmut Marko freed him from a limiting contract associated with Fernando Alonso’s management. Recently, Racing Bulls team leader Alan Permane referred to the Formula 2 championship leader as the "next in line" for an F1 promotion with the Red Bull-owned team. However, as reported by f1-insider.com’s Ralf Bach, the Bulgarian's rise has occurred during significant financial difficulties.

"Helmut Marko practically bought him out of Alonso," Bach stated. "What I've been told is that he had a ruthlessly restrictive contract with the young man, leaving him in debt currently." Tsolov was formerly part of Alonso’s driver management before joining Red Bull’s driver academy. The specific details of the alleged contract remain undisclosed, and both Alonso and his management have not commented on the report. Bach mentions that Red Bull is now "assisting him in every way possible." "Without Red Bull, he would be nearly bankrupt, according to my sources," he added.

These claims are particularly noteworthy given Tsolov’s commanding performances in Formula 2. "He’s exceptionally fast, rarely makes mistakes, and maintains consistency," Bach remarked. "Competing under these conditions, practically facing existential fears, is incredibly challenging." Tsolov has secured six victories and currently leads the championship, positioning him as a strong candidate for a seat at Racing Bulls if Liam Lawson or Arvid Lindblad depart. Meanwhile, Alonso made news of a different nature in Hungary by introducing his baby son Leonard to Aston Martin staff in the garage for the first time.
