Graham Loudon: A strong foundation is being laid at Cadillac

      The debut season of Cadillac in Formula 1 has proven to be predictably challenging – after the first half of the season, the team remains the only one that has not scored a single point. At the same time, Cadillac is constantly plagued by reliability issues, causing at least one of the drivers to retire from the race in six of the last seven Grands Prix.

      Despite the difficulties, Cadillac's team principal Graham Loudon is proud of what the team has already achieved by the summer break. The British specialist assures that in 2026, Cadillac is laying the foundation for future successes.

      Graham Loudon: "The first half of Cadillac's debut season in Formula 1 has been a serious test for the entire team. But at the same time, it has been a very interesting and valuable experience.

      Creating a new team in Formula 1 is a huge task. I have said many times that Formula 1 is the greatest team sport in the world. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that all teams are simultaneously in the same conditions, and you immediately compare yourself with the best in the world.

      All our competitors have immense experience, and the level of competition is incredibly high. For example, in qualifying in Hungary, we lost to Williams by just a few tenths of a second, even though that team has been competing in Formula 1 for a very long time.

      When it comes to our results, it is impossible to be completely satisfied in Formula 1. There is always a desire for more, always a wish to improve. We understand that we can get better in literally everything – in the car's performance, in its efficiency, in how we use our systems, and in many other aspects.

      You have to start somewhere. In my opinion, every team member has done an excellent job to get us to the positions we are in now.

      Everyone in the team is proud to represent Cadillac, and we want to elevate the team to the level that we believe we can achieve. We have said many times that we have very ambitious plans, and this is not a manifestation of overconfidence. We genuinely want to bring something new to Formula 1.

      We did not come here just to increase the number of participants. But at the same time, we fully understand how challenging the task ahead of us is, and we know that it will take time. You cannot shoot from a cannon while standing in a canoe – you first need to build a solid foundation. That is exactly what we are doing this season."
