The Aston Martin engineer has moved to Ferrari.

There has been a new addition to the technical team at Ferrari. Spanish engineer Carlos Sanchez Martinez has joined the team from Maranello, having previously worked for almost eight years at Aston Martin.

Martinez joined the British team back when it was still called Racing Point. The race at Silverstone was his last with Aston Martin, and he has already started working at Ferrari as a chassis load and strength calculation engineer.

"After almost eight years, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone was my last race weekend with Aston Martin, or Racing Point, as the team was called when I joined," Sanchez wrote on social media. "It was an absolutely incredible period of my life spent alongside wonderful people and some of the greatest drivers in the history of our sport. Together we celebrated numerous podiums, one pole position, and one victory.

I am sincerely grateful for this chapter of my life spent in green. Thank you to everyone who was part of this journey. Now it’s time to take on a new challenge in Formula 1 with a new team and in new colors."
