Yankovsky and Borisov will kick off the fourth stage of REC.
The fourth stage of the REC season will be launched on August 1 at the Moscow Raceway in the Moscow region by actors Ivan Yankovsky and Yura Borisov. They will drive in front of the peloton in replicas of legendary early 20th-century cars – Russo-Balt S24/55 (a participant in the 1912 Monaco race) and Blitzen Benz. Both cars were recreated by designer Igor Ermilin.
It is expected that around 40 crews will participate in the start of the Autoradio Grand Prix. One of the main events of the stage will be the trial debut of the Russian sports prototype "Phantom No. 44" from the Phantom Racing team.
In the absolute standings, the battle will once again be led by prototypes and GT3 category cars. In the previous stage at the Igora Drive track, the advantage was on the side of the prototypes, but the Moscow Raceway may change the balance of power.
The first three stages of the season ended with victories from different crews, so the fourth round may further intensify the competition before the championship final in October.
Currently, the individual standings are led by Mikhail Alyoshin and Denis Remenyako from Capital RT No. 13 in a Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the GT Pro class. The Teamgaris No. 34 crew of Stanislav Aksyonov and Eduard Islamov (Toyota GR Supra GT4) is just a few points behind the leaders.
Another four points separate Konstantin Zakharievsky and Stanislav Sidoruk from crew No. 29 in the LMP3 prototype from the second position.
In endurance racing, not only pure speed is important, but also stability throughout the distance. This is precisely why GT4 cars, which lag behind prototypes and GT3 in pace, allow drivers to compete for high positions in the overall standings.
The fourth stage of the REC will take place in an expanded festival format. Filming with Russian actors, a musical program from VK Records with a live broadcast, a children's area, sports activities, and souvenir giveaways are planned in the paddock.
"We, together with VK Records, decided to support young performers and provide them with a platform for performances with an online broadcast right during the sports event," said the general organizer of the REC, Anastasia Bendikova. "This is interesting for both the teams' guests and the viewers, both offline and in the broadcast. We are expanding the audience – motorsport is becoming a place for family leisure on weekends. Our teams will ensure a sporting battle for fans of adrenaline, technology, and speed."
Class leaders after three stages:
CN PRO – Teamgaris No. 29: Zakharievsky, Sidoruk, Tereshchenko
GT PRO – Capital Racing Team No. 13: Alyoshin, Remenyako
GT – Teamgaris No. 34: Aksyonov, Islamov
