Pursher is happy to combine Formula E with work at Mercedes.

At the end of February, the 2023 Formula 2 champion Theo Pourchaire, considered one of the most talented drivers of his generation, signed a reserve driver contract with Mercedes and is working on the simulator during Grand Prix weekends, helping the team with setup searches. A few days ago, the Frenchman signed a contract with the Opel team in Formula E – and is excited about the opportunity to combine real racing on track in the electric series with work in a Formula 1 team. Theo Pourchaire: "Mercedes had no objections to this contract, and for me, the main thing is racing on track. Working on the Formula 1 simulator is also very useful, but it's just a simulator. The simulator is very important for Formula 1 teams. They hold simulator sessions at night after the second practice to find solutions. During the upcoming round in Zandvoort, I will also be working on the simulator – from about five in the evening until three or four in the morning, I will be testing different setup options for the Formula 1 car. This is very important for them, and for me, it's important to have a full racing program."
