Kimi Antonelli raced at the karting track under the name Franz.
Kimi Antonelli and Max Verstappen share a friendly relationship, and reportedly, the Italian Mercedes driver hinted at this in a rather unusual way during the last days of the August break.
It is worth reminding that in the spring of last year, just before the very first tests behind the wheel of a GT3 car at the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring (at that time it was a Ferrari), Verstappen took a German pseudonym, calling himself Franz Hermann.
As GPToday writes, recently Kimi drove incognito at one of the karting tracks in Germany under the pseudonym Franz Antonelli. The source of this information is not disclosed by the publication, but there is a remark in the text "according to some reports" – in any case, the Italian Mercedes driver himself did not mention this.
It is quite possible that such an event took place, and if Kimi indeed chose to use a pseudonym that evokes associations with his friend Max's adventures at the Nürburgring, then it is curious in its own way.
Currently, both Kimi and Max are preparing for the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix, which is home turf for the four-time world champion, who will certainly try to stand out in Zandvoort. Since this will be the last appearance of Formula 1 at this Dutch circuit, it is essential to make it memorable for his numerous fans.
